Brief Description:

The Community Foundation of Sarasota County is a local thought leader on employing a two-generation model of support for students and their parents. We are committed to opening doors for parents at four Title 1 Elementary Schools in Sarasota County, Alta Vista Elementary School, Emma E. Booker Elementary School, Gocio Elementary School, and Tuttle Elementary School, in order to support their acquisition of college credentials which lead to family-sustaining wages. The Community Foundation of Sarasota County 2Gen Scholarship connects low-income parents from these schools to educational pathways which build their skills as well as social capital.

Application Information:

Special Note: This application is only available to students who:

1. Are residents of Sarasota or Manatee Counties for 1 year or longer.

2. Have a child enrolled in Alta Vista, Emma E. Booker, Gocio or Tuttle Elementary Schools.

3. Have received a referral from the Parent Education Navigator to apply for the 2Gen Scholarship.

4. Will not be receiving a renewable scholarship or another scholarship from the foundation for the 2023-2024 school year.

5. Will be 18 years of age or older as of December 31, 2024

*No other students should apply using this form as all ineligible applications will be automatically denied.
